Managed Network
Nobody reports a firewall problem. They report that nothing works.
Guardian manages, monitors, and secures the network your business runs on — firewalls, switches, wireless, and VPN. When something isn't working, we work through the layers until we find the cause, including when it turns out to sit with your internet provider.
Managed Network is part of Guardian's Managed Services. See also Managed Server.
What Guardian Manages
Watched continuously
Device health, availability, and connectivity are monitored, so a failing access point or a saturated link shows up before the complaints do.
Current and maintained
Firmware, configuration, and access rules are kept current, with configuration backups where the equipment supports them.
Secured
Firewall rules, access policies, and security appliances are managed and reviewed as the business changes — not left as they were set on the day they were installed.
Remote access that holds up
VPN connectivity maintained so people working outside the office can reach what they need without a workaround.
Documented, not remembered
The network configuration is written down, so support doesn't depend on the one person who remembers how it was put together.
Worked through, not passed around
When something is wrong, we work through the layers until the cause is isolated, rather than handing it back to you.
What That Means for Your Business
You don't have to guess where the problem is
“The internet keeps dropping” is a symptom, not a diagnosis. Working out whether it's the firewall, the switch, the Wi-Fi, the VPN, or the application is our job, not yours.
You don't have to call your provider
When the problem sits with your ISP or another vendor, we deal with them. Nobody on your staff spends an afternoon on hold explaining a problem they didn't cause.
Aging equipment doesn't surprise you
We tell you when a firewall is approaching end of support or an access point is struggling with the load it's carrying — while it's still a plan rather than an outage.
Your network doesn't fall behind
Updates and rule changes happen as they come, so the environment doesn't drift out of date while everyone assumes someone is handling it.
When the Network Is Wrong, Everything Feels Wrong
A slow laptop affects one person. A struggling access point or an undersized firewall affects everyone, all day — and it rarely announces itself as the cause. The complaints arrive as “the internet is slow” or “it keeps kicking me out,” and the network is the last place anyone looks.
Consumer-grade equipment is built for a house with a handful of devices, not an office with forty people on video calls. It rarely fails outright — it just underperforms for years while the blame lands somewhere else.
We'll tell you when the equipment is the real constraint. We'll also tell you when it isn't, and the money is better spent somewhere else.
A note on scope
Managed Network covers the ongoing management, monitoring, security, maintenance, and support of your network infrastructure. New installations, major redesigns, office moves, cabling, hardware purchases, and specialized project work are scoped and priced separately.
